WORK IN PROGRESS UNIT 1 PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT
Shot in JPEG with my Canon EOS Rebel T6. I shot several images but I’m still not sure if some of these are the final products or not. Some shots like the one for colour could be either that or another element like shape or line.

This project consisted of taking 8 pictures in accordance with the 8 formal elements of composition. The location selected was the area surrounding my apartment complex. The pictures were shot with my Canon EOS Rebel T6 with an 18-55mm lens and ISO 400. All pictures were shot handheld.
Most of the pictures I took all looked the same, with the only variation being lighting depending on the exposure I gave it. Some of them ended up looking better underexposed, like the image for scale. I changed the pictures for shape and color because they looked a little dull and I wasn’t entirely convinced they were representing the elements properly. In regards to editing, for most of the images, I just wanted the colors to be more vibrant and the details to be clearer. For the image representing value, I assumed it would be better to showcase the gazebo’s ceiling and the sky in a black-and-white edit. The image for texture is just a concrete floor near the entrance to my building and the image for shape is a pipe cover or lid. My favorite image is the one for line. I played around with symmetry and wanted it to look a little more somber than the rest of the images.
This was a good refresher for all of the things I learned a while ago in my other photography lessons and despite the deadline, I had a lot of fun trying to think my way through it. Lightroom is a bit stressful but I think I’m getting the hang of it.
