Week 3

Production

I made my way to Saratoga beach last Saturday with my cousin and her dog. It was extremely cold and windy despite it being a nice day outside. I took some pictures of the beach and the horizon to emphasize the concept of line, but I also took some shots of the water itself.

Yesterday, I finally had a day off of work and so I took all of my indoor photos. I really wanted to experiment and try to freeze droplets of water in my photos and I hope some of them are usable because I had a lot of fun trying to get them right. I also tried to capture the ripple effect on the sink itself to capture images of where the water goes as a process. With that in mind, I included simple photos of the drain as well. I took pictures of the pipes underneath my sink and then of a manhole that is outside my apartment building in the parking lot area.

Today, when I got off work I headed toward the sewage treatment plant that is nearby and took pictures of their water tanks to represent the treatment plant part of my project.

Here are some images of my setup! I had to be creative with the lighting for the “frozen droplets” part.

I took a total of 145 images. Here are some images of the LRC selecting process and also my favorite images of the bunch.
